GREENHOUSE PROGRAM DIRECTOR
IN A NUTSHELL:
A transplant from MI (go STATE), I moved to the Queen City eight years ago to become an elementary teacher and a literacy specialist with my hubby. My experiences in and out of the classroom have shaped who I am today and I am so grateful for the opportunity to invest in our schools here in CMS. My heart has always pulled toward partnering with children and parents so when the opportunity came to humbly lead in GreenHouse, it was really a no-brainer.
I SHARE MY LIFE WITH:
My incredibly talented husband, Tony and my two beautiful daughters, Maeve (4 years old) and Raeya (2 years old). Oh yeah, we also have a cozy cat named Ryder who is completely neglected now that we have kids.
HOW I COLLIDED WITH WATERSHED:
Tony and I were new to the city and ready to begin our lives as teachers and because we hadn’t officially started our jobs and we moved across the country we were seeking date nights that didn’t cost money so Watershed’s Movies in the Park were just our kind of nights! The first Sunday we attended we decided to go to the Bloc that night because the contact leader had a CMS email so we thought he’d be pretty cool. (For the record, that was Jonathan George, the leader of our Middle School bloc!)
FAVORITE FACET OF WATERSHED:
The community that has turned into our family. Raising our girls away from our family can be difficult at times and knowing that God has blessed us with people that we “do life with” is incredible. Oh yeah, and the coffee is pretty awesome too.
Toddler footsteps running on hardwoods, baby laughter, kids playing at recess, locally roasted coffee, quiet mornings, wine with friends, children’s books, routines (I’m an ENFJ), and watching people do what they were created to do.
PLACES YOU'LL FIND ME IN CHARLOTTE:
Imagine ON, every park within a 5 mile radius of Uptown, and Target/Trader Joes. In fact, Trader Joes was one of my daughter’s first words.
CURRENT LIFE LEARNING:
That God goes before me.
Smelling like dinner.
