Every other Friday we take a moment to introduce you to someone in our community who serves in one or more of Watershed's many volunteer areas: GreenHouse/Shed StudentsSunday TeamsCatapultBloc Leading, etc. The featured volunteer will then select someone he/she would like to see highlighted next.

This week, meet Oliver!

Oliver Manalac

Volunteer Area(s):

Production Team, Kindred Bloc, Relationality Bloc (recently retired)

Why did you choose to volunteer in your area(s)?

I've come to realize that in order to continue growing in my faith and spirituality, I needed to work on my "living in community with others".  Therefore, even though I am very much an introvert and an individualist (#4 in the Enneagram), I volunteer to get out of my comfort zone and, ultimately, deepen my relationship with God.

What has been one of your favorite moments as a volunteer?

Seeing how Watershed community has reciprocated in kind, especially towards the Kindred Bloc.

If you could use only one word to describe our Watershed community, what would it be?

Describe your perfect day in Charlotte:

Really just lounging and piddling around with my husband Mark.

Next I would like Watershed to feature Levon Edwards because in the time I've gotten to know him--particularly in the Kindred Bloc--he has continued to lean into the community and make a difference within it.
