MIDDLE SCHOOL BLOC
POINT OF ORIGIN:
IN A NUTSHELL:
My wife, Kayla and I met at THE Cornerstone University back in 2003. We found out at our rehearsal dinner in August of 2005 that I had been offered a job to teach at Piedmont Middle School here in Charlotte. We moved down a week or so later. I still teach 7th grade Humanities at Piedmont and love every minute of it. Well, almost every minute.
THE PERFECT SATURDAY:
I would wake up around 7:30. Walk to Not Just Coffee or Amelie’s Petite with my lovely wife. Drink a caramel latte at NJC or a French Press at Amelie’s. Oh, I forgot. I first make sure I record the Arsenal match. So, I then go home and watch the Arsenal match that I remembered to record. I hope you see that my first priority is my beautiful wife, then the beautiful game. Then maybe I’ll have time to play a round of disc golf, eat an amazing meal at Fern, and finish with a movie at my favorite Queen City landmark, the Manor Twin. I know, there aren’t enough hours in the day but if I could, that is what I would do. There you go. The perfect Saturday.
HOW I FOUND WATERSHED:
Shortly after Kayla and I moved to Charlotte we visited a few churches in the area. They weren't quite what we were looking for. The one Sunday we were not invited to check out a new church with a coworkers we found a flyer. It was for...Watershed. So we gave it a chance. It happened to be Watershed’s launch Sunday. We always said we would wait until we got to the car before we made any statements about our experience. Let’s just say when we got to the car we both looked at each other and knew this was going to be our new community. So the next Sunday we were rockin’ GreenHouse in the back of Actor’s Theatre and then leading a silly bloc called Jaunt (RIP).
