GIRLS ON THE RUN

Girls on the Run (GOTR) inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. They are dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

Watershed is excited to host two middle school Heart & Sole teams on-site this fall! Heart & Sole considers the whole girl — body, brain, heart, spirit and social connection — in a positive, structured space where girls can learn about themselves, explore new ideas, cultivate empathy and strengthen connections. Running is incorporated into each lesson to encourage physical wellness and teach life skills such as team building, creating a support system, standing up for themselves and others and decision making.

OPPORTUNITIES //

  • COACH: Warm-up your spirit fingers, lace up your sneakers and inspire a group of girls to be strong and healthy! Volunteer coaches facilitate GOTR's easy-to-follow curriculum with small groups of girls over the course of 10-12 weeks. Amidst the conversation, laughter, and hugs, coaches witness transformational change! Watershed is excited to provide volunteer coaches for two Heart & Sole teams this Spring! The teams will meet two days a week. Coaches are need for East Way Middle School and practice will be from 4:15pm - 5:30pm. The second location will be in East Charlotte at Cokesburry United Methodist Church and practices will be held on Wednesday and Thursdays, from 5pm - 6:15pm.
