As society continues to wrestle and shift in its perspective toward the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Questioning (LGBTQ) community, many individuals still struggle to find a safe place for spiritual connectedness, reflection and formation. For many members of the LGBTQ community the narrative surrounding church has been less than compelling and often painful and marginalizing. Hence in the name of compassion, equality and acceptance, Watershed longs to create different experience and expression for its LGBTQ friends and members.
Kindred Community is a safe haven and onramp for the LGBTQ person. A welcoming refuge where open dialogue and genuineness is both invited and pursued. Where relationships, kindred spirits and transparency pave the way to know and understand deeper places in one's self and where validation and connection with Christ and others can be both explored and experienced.
