Why do they matter? It’s simple.

What makes Watershed special is our people, and one of our core beliefs is that transformation often happens within the context of relationships. Knowing and being known matters, and Sunday mornings aren’t often enough for people to really dive into a community relationship that allows this to happen. Regional Collectives were built with two things in mind: you + community.

  • Yes! Our hope is that Regional Collectives are intergenerational and inclusive of all, so it’s just as important that kids and teens are welcome.

  • While there is no universal prohibition of alcohol at these gatherings, we do ask that each collective function with a degree of mindfulness and sensitivity towards our siblings who are finding life through the practice of recovery, or those who simply choose to not consume for whatever reason.

  • We’d recommended joining the nearest one to you to start! If we get enough word that there’s an area we missed with folks there, we’ll add another group to the list. Feel free to email Matt at matt@watershedcharlotte.com if you run into this!

  • That’s great! Please reach out to your area’s Regional Liaison via your group. You will see them listed as a leader in your group. Feel free to reach out to Matt at matt@watershedcharlotte.com if you have any issues.

  • We’ve chosen the term “regional” because we’re trying to increase accessibility, a foundational component to equity. We chose the name, “collectives” as a way of forming gatherings plus encouraging representation. Charlotte is marked by quite a bit of segregation. Our hope is for the table to be filled with the many different stories, lenses, and experiences that represent both our city and our Watershed community.
