Everyone knows the story of Christmas. In fact, many of us know it so well that it’s lost its ability to surprise us. But there’s more to this story than what is typically portrayed in a tabletop nativity set or even in a cherished Christmas hymn. The biblical Christmas story remains one of the most enduring accounts of defiant hope in the face of deep oppression. It inaugurates a strange and uncertain new world, but one that ushers in a season of possibility. Join us this Advent season as we explore this world together.

Jesus’ Gonna Jesus: Jan. 4 - Feb. 8
Christianity has had seasons where it’s been beautifully shaped by the life and teachings of Jesus—and seasons where it has tried very hard to shape Jesus into something safer, smaller, or more convenient. But no matter how much we domesticate, hijack, or contort him, the Jesus rooted in radical Love, Compassion, and Justice refuses to be confined. Eventually, Jesus is going to do what Jesus does: love who he loves, confront what harms, lift up who’s left out, and unsettle whatever needs unsettling. In other words, Jesus’ gonna Jesus.
