Teaching + Lead Team

About our Teaching Team:

At Watershed we believe that diversity extends beyond identity into experience, even the experience of God. While we know we can never reflect that diversity perfectly, we aim to create a teaching experience wherein attendees can learn and grow in ways and means recognizable to them. Our teaching team is made up of persons with a broad spectrum of ethnic, spiritual, educational, neurological, and generational backgrounds and identities, while also bringing their own stylistic distinctiveness to the art of preaching and teaching.

About our Lead Team:

In a world where too many people carry the pain of harm done to them in church contexts, visible and accessible accountability is key to any sustainable spiritual community. The Watershed Lead Team exists to provide that accountability, not merely in their formal relationship with the staff and teaching team, but also in seeking to reflect the intersections of experience and identity present at Watershed. They offer oversight to the staff on matters related to budget, finances, hiring, evaluating the staff, and other big-picture strategic matters.

Music + Formation Teams

About our Music Leadership Team:

The Christian tradition is diverse, not just in belief and practice but in liturgy and tradition. While no church can exhaustively capture this spectrum of plurality - be it stylistically, musically, lyrically, or otherwise - we hope to represent the depth and breadth of artistic expressions of the divine present in our community as best we can. Watershed’s music leadership team provides wise direction, intentional care, and thoughtful creativity in the stewardship of Watershed’s liturgical expression. They work closely with our staff and teaching team to make sure our gatherings are accessible, hospitable, and engaging.

About our Formation Leadership Team:

Church has always been about more than a Sunday morning experience. If you grew up in church then you may have been part of a small group of some kind. Or perhaps you joined with others from your spiritual community in justice work, recreation, or outreach. At Watershed, the Formation Leadership Team works to make sure that all facets of our spiritual footprint remained aligned with Watershed’s broader mission. They strategize towards, equip for, and reflect upon Watershed’s broader efforts to foster kinship, growth, and change.
